Deckle edges. Front and… rear free endpapers toned. Editor's two-line ink inscription "To Margaret White | from GED" at front free endpaper's top right; interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. A near fine copy in a very good- dust jacket. An Elizabethan era play of unknown authorship transcribed from the original manuscript copy held by the Folger Shakespeare Library from a 1907 acquisition by Henry Clay Folger. This book was acquired from the estate of Shakespeare scholar Dr. Giles Edwin Dawson (1903-1994) who joined the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C. as a reference librarian in 1932 and, after World War II service, was the Folger's curator of books and manuscripts from 1946 until his retirement in 1967. Dr. Dawson additionally served on the Catholic University faculty from 1935 to 1972 and taught at Howard University from 1975 to 1977. Giles Dawson's first wife, Margaret Williams, whom he married in 1926, died in 1957. Giles Dawson then married Margaret White, this book's inscribee, in 1959.
