Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. 1st Edition. 149 pages (complete). In Afrikaans throughout. Geyer was sent to London as the 'new' apartheid government's representative at a particularly interesting time in British history and a particularly delicate and tricky time in South Africa's story. His period as High Commissioner saw Churchill return to power, the King die and the succession of a new Queen. Geyer was perceptive and acute in his role. He was confronted by the reality that the apartheid policies of his government were unacceptable abroad and isolation was threatened. His unquestioning acceptance of apartheid had to be balanced with a delicate handling of the image of his country in London.
