Añadir al carritoSoft cover. 1st Edition. DEAN KOONTZ & GERDA KOONTZ - APHRODISIAC GIRL, published by Cameo Library/Oval Books, copyright 1973, first thus (and only) Printing (this is a reprint/retitled version of "Bounce Girl" published by Cameo in 1970). This book is one of a number of 30 or so books that Dean Koontz wrote for Cameo books early in his career under various pennames (like Gracie Amber or Leonard Chris), but this is the only one he actually published under his own name. Dean Koontz has since disavowed and otherwise denied having ever written such books (besides this book which was published under his own name and the Leonard Chris book "Hung"), but the evidence is undisputable. Book has no spine creasing, no spine lean, no cover creases, no soiling or staining to covers (faint evidence of a removed round price sticker to cover), no former owner markings or used bookstore markings inside (remainder "cut" mark to bottom outer page edge block), no missing pages, no creased pages from prior reading, pages are flat and tight and are unread. Overall a FINE-/N-FINE book of this rare 1970s Dean Koontz printing "adult" pen name book. I have a number of other U.S. and U.K. Dean Koontz 1st printing hardcover/paperback/magazine appearances up for sale.

Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: Good+. First Edition. 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 192 pages; 1970 Aware Press. Trade size paperback in glossy green and black card covers lettered in white. First and only edition of this scarce literary and counter-cultural curiosity. Although credited to Dean Koontz and his wife Gerda, the book was substantially rewritten without his approval by the publisher from a manuscript Koontz submitted in 1969. Koontz has since publicly disavowed the published version, stating it bears little resemblance to his original work and that Gerda did not contribute. A fascinating artifact of late-1960searly-1970s underground publishing culture and an unusual footnote in Koontz's early bibliography. This soundly bound copy shows a mild shelf lean and some reader creasing to the spine, with general edge rubbing and some superficial stress creases to the covers. Prior owner name penned top edge of the front endpage. Contents clean and unmarked. G++ to VG-.

Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Good. 1st Edition. Softcover. Black and green printed covers with white lettering. This copy is a few degrees shelf-cocked, with some scuffs and bumps, but overall still tightly bound and solid. No date on the title page. Copyright page dated only 1970. 192 pages. Woodstock, pot, body painting, groupies. Koontz has written more than 100 books under his various pen-names over the last 50 years. This was among the first and, curiously, is not listed on the bibliography on his own website. He was on his 20s when he wrote this one - and was just breaking into the industry writing paperback originals. Please email with questions or to request photos. If you see a photo beside this listing, please be aware that it's an ABE Stock Photo (whatever that is) and not a photo of this book.

Añadir al carritoMass Market Paperback. Condición: VG/NF. First Edition. Book appears near sharp and virtually unread with a hint of shelfwear at edges and extremities, and three faint lines at top edge of text block, looks like some sort of distributor's marking. Some tanning to pages due to age and cheap paper stock. An amazingly well preserved copy of this important early book by noted horror author Dean R. Koontz, co-authored by his wife. The TRUE 1st edition! Book may require extra postage and attention ala signature confirmation depending where it is to be dispatched to. Extremely rare title and state! Cameo Library # 9CA-8059.

Añadir al carritoFIRST EDITION, paperclip mark at head of Contents page, crease at bottom corner of prelims, one pencil annotation, pp. 186, [5], foolscap 8vo, original wrappers, slightly rubbed, a couple of creased to bottom corner of front cover, good. A countercultural tract from early in Koontz's long career, later disowned; it takes a sensationalist line on the threat of the Nixon Administration to civil liberties - declaring America to be on the road to becoming a 'fascist nation'. The contemporary 'Science Fiction Review' (October 1970) describes the book as having been withdrawn after only a handful of copies had been sold - having been 'distributed to the porno stores'.
