Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. Hardcover. Number 130 of 750 copies printed by the De Vinne Press on Windsor hand-made paper. With ownership signature of A. G. Hurd dated Christmas 1901. François le Champi (translated as François the Waif or The Country Waif) is a classic 1848 pastoral novel by French author George Sand. Set in… the rural Berry region, it tells the story of an abandoned orphan boy named François and Madeleine, a compassionate miller's wife who helps raise him. A prefatory note by the translator calls the work a pretty idyl that tells of homely affection, self-devotion, humble cares and delicate fears. Bound in gray paper covered boards with thin red paper along the front and rear of the covers, and with titling on both the front cover and spine. Mild signs of handling but still very good. Measures 4.5 x 7 inches. 243 pages. Literature.

Añadir al carritoBoards and Cloth. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. Limited and Numbered. FADETTE (LA PETITE FADETTE) By George Sand and Translated from the French by Jane Minot Sedgwick, with an Etching by E. Abot. This is one of a limited edition of only 250 copies and states on the limitation page: "The De Vinne Press certifies that only two…hundred and fifty copies of this book have been printed on Dickinson hand-made paper November 1893 This is copy No. 108" The number 108 is written with a red pen. 295 pp. Top page edges gilt, pages uncut, slight edge wear/rubbing to corners, paper over cloth spine. Very light discoloring from handling as is common with paper on boards and slight edge rubbing to corners. It appears that at one time a bookplate was tipped in on the front end-paper and has since been removed/disappeared leaving the outline of the paper and brown spots where the glue had been (No loss of paper etc. appears that bookplate just became detached naturally.all is smooth), Otherwise book is CLEAN, COMPLETE, and TIGHT. Very nice quality paper used. E. Abot (ilustrador).
