Mass Market Paperback. Condición: Good. First Edition. Oddly this has the cover of Lariat Story Magazine from July 1938 and not the correct cover. This appears to have been how it was produced - odd as the magazines had different publishers. Contains 'Bitter Creek Buckaroo' by Bond, 'Empty Saddles' by Grinstead, 'Outlaws of the…Chaparral' by Ware, 'Ham Swings a Wide Loop' by Garry, 'Boothill Dare' by Steele, 'Side Meat' by MacDowell, 'Law in his Holster' by Bosworth and 'The Hitching Rail' by Benson. All the stories have illustrations but they are uncredited - three have the signatures Murphy, Sherman and Schomburg however. There is chipping to the edges of the covers. The pages are browned with some spotting in places and some small edge tears and creases to a few pages. Postage charge will be reduced by £1.50 when the order is processed. Murphy; Sherman; Schomburg (ilustrador).

Soft cover. Condición: New. Estado de la sobrecubierta: No dust jacket as issued. 1st Edition. Price is net to all; promotional discounts do not apply. SHIPPING NOTE: Due to size and weight (e.g., multi-volume sets), additional shipping fees apply (calculated at checkout). First edition, first printing. Signed by Friedlander. Bo…xed set of six volumes sharing the following format: Soft cover. No dust jacket as issued; contained in a printed paper-covered slipcase. Photgraphs by Lee Friedlander. Set 240 pp., with 191 duotone plates. 9 x 8-1/2 inches. Lee Friedlander's work is widely known for transforming our visual understanding of contemporary American culture. Known for passionately embracing all subject matter, Friedlander photographed nearly every facet of American life from the 1950s to the present. From factories in Pennsylvania, to the jazz scene in New Orleans, to the deserts of the Southwest, Friedlander's complex formal visual strategies continue to influence the way we understand, analyze, and experience modern American experience. Friedlander's work continues to influence photographic practice internationally, in part due to the heightened sense of self-awareness that is a trademark of so many of his photographs and in part because of his ability to embrace wide-ranging subject matter, always interpreting it in an elegance that hadn't existed prior to his work. New in publisher's shrink-wrap (opened only for signature). From the publisher: "In the 1960s and '70s, Lee Friedlander (born 1934) developed his signature approach to documenting the American "social landscape": deadpan, structurally complex black-and-white photographs of seemingly anything, anybody or anyplace that passed in front of his lens. But as he was making his name as a documentary photographer capturing the look and feel of modern American life, he was also photographing his closest friends, a practice he has continued throughout his long career. A slipcased set of six paperback books, The Mind and the Hand presents the photographer's intimate portraits of six of his best friends taken over the past five decades. The subjects, each presented in their own separate volume, comprise a veritable who's who of one of America's most fertile periods in photography: Richard Benson, William Christenberry, William Eggleston, Walker Evans, John Szarkowski and Garry Winogrand. Each volume begins with a relevant quote from its subject." Signed by Author.
