No writing, highlighting, or marks in text This rare book is a fine volume with leather binding on the spine and cloth boards. It is in good condition. It is fully illustrated with 52 full page colour plates. The authors have achieved the most difficult task of presenting botanical data in a manner to satisfy scientific readers, while permitting those knowing little of botany - but who are interested in the toxic properties of suspected plants - to establish their identity and to recognise the symptoms of poisoning in stock which may have eaten them. The authors are C A Gardner, who was the Government Botanist and Curator of the State Herbarium, and Dr H W Bennetts, who was Principal of the Animal Health & Nutrition Laboratory, Dept of Agriculture Perth. A better team would be difficult to imagine, an outstanding botanist prepared to literally tramp the wilds in search of specimens and a keenly trained veterinary pathologist to observe and record authoritatively the toxological data. This rare book is a treasure.
