But not all is light. Although their works are not an outright criticism against the state of the world and media, they are founded upon serious thoughts on the role of the artist in society and creative experimentation of new technologies. Their manner of dialogue may not seem very heavy, but this does not necessarily mean that they are not serious, nor does lack of graveness mean that they are simply Light. The messages that they are trying to capture and deliver by using the technologies that have evolved from Portapak are surely connected to the spirit of Nam June Paik that lives on today.
