Protetto da una struttura di sostegno con iscrizioni successive a penna e carta velina. Il titolo è riportato a matita nell'angolo in basso a destra del disegno ?Vista della città di Eze vicino a Nizza?.Un acquerello molto simile, ma raffigurante Èze da un altro punto di vista, e attribuito a Lory, è conservato presso la National Gallery of Art di Washington. Ricca legatura in marocchino rosso dell'epoca con ricca doratura: una larga bordura neoclassica e una grande losanga centrale, dorso con titolo e 6 scomparti decorati in oro. Con 35 tavole incise all'acquatinta, stupendamente dipinte a mano, numerate rispetto alla prima edizione. Seconda edizione, assai più rara di quella del 1811, di questa famosa stupenda serie di incisioni in rame all'acquatinta dai disegni dei Lory e da loro colorate presso l'editore. La pubblicazione intendeva  promuovere la nuova strada attraverso il Sempione, tra il Lago Lemano e il Lago Maggiore, aperta poco tempo prima. Gli artisti si recarono sul posto non appena la strada fu agibile per disegnare dal vero."d'une importance capitale pour l'illustration topographique du Valais" (Gattlen). I Lory padre e figlio (Berna,1763-1840 e 1784-1846) furono i più raffinati paesaggisti svizzeri del primo Ottocento: pubblicarono nel 1815 il Voyage pittoresque aux Glaciers de Chamouni, nel 1820 il Voyage pittoresque de l'Oberland Bernois; mentre il padre da solo aveva illustrato nel 1787 i due album più belli tra quello di Jean Fr. Albanis de Beaumont: il Voyage historique et pittoresque du Comté de Nice ed il Voyage pittoresque aux Alpes Pennines.Ottimo esemplare, fresco e marginoso, con stupenda colorazione originale, lievi fioriture al testo. Grandiose e luminose vedute che raffigurano immagini di paesaggi: vedute del Lago di Ginevra, la cascata di Pissevache, vedute di Sion, la Galerie des Glaciers, vari ponti, le Isole Borromee e l'Isola Bella sul Lago Maggiore, ecc. Le composizioni, sapientemente equilibrate, sono animate da personaggi in costume (paesani, pastori, cocchieri, viaggiatori, ecc.) e presentano panorami di natura selvaggia oltre a città e villaggi.
