Añadir al carritoHalf Calf. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Slipcase. Sixth Edition. [Sixth edition]. [viii], 77, 70-88, 97-177-188 pp. Half recent dark calf over marbled boards; raised bands, red leather label, blind and gilt ruling and gilt lettering to spine; brown cloth slipcase with gilt-lettered red leather label to its spine. Slight scratching to calf and minor rubbing to slipcase's extremities. Light spotting to text and toning to corner of first thirty pages. Short closed tear at p. 5, small amount of loss at edge of p. 53 & 111 with no loss to text and even shorter tears to edges of only a handful of pages, including title. The cropping to the fore edge over time has trimmed the edges of some of the marginal printed notes. The pagination is odd, but it is complete. This work was a bestseller and was published many times during the 17th century, providing recipes for medicines and more everyday fare. The British Library notes that although the title implies a female audience, only around 10% of women were literate at the time of publication and so most of this work's readers were clergymen or men of the gentry.
