VG.** Family history records are confusing, but seem to point to: Albert Bird was born on 17 August 1867 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, his father, Thomas, was 30 and his mother, Caroline, was 33. He married Sarah Hawkins in 1895 in West Bromwich, Staffordshire. He died in April 1927 in Worcester, Worcestershire, at the age of 59. When he retired from Cricket, he was first publican of The George Inn, 11 Market St, Woodhouse, Sheffield.
