The first is dated Jan. 3 [no year] and is on the printed letterhead House of Representatives, Washington: "It is very kind of you to write me and I appreciate your words of sympathy very much indeed. Paul and his wife came out to luncheon with us in November and he looked and seemed prefectly well. Life is uncertain is it not! . I went to both Grab Bag Dinners before coming down here . I am away so much of the year myself that I can seldom go to these reunions." The second is dated May 6 [no year] and is on the printed letterhead Wayside, North Easton, Massachusetts [in its entirety]: "There is only one thing I am interested in petitioning the government about at present and that is the sending of troops and supplies to Europe. I think we should all concentrate on that." Frothingham was a Congressman from Massachusetts from 1921 until his death in 1928.
