Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book details the experiences of the author on an exploratory voyage through Western North America in 1858. Spanning from the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific Ocean, the author traveled through regions previously unknown to most Europeans, including the territories of Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and Vancouver Island. The author was likely among the first white men to cross the Rocky Mountains from the north and entered the Columbia River from the ocean, providing a detailed description of the native tribes and the geography of the region. This narrative offers an in-depth examination of the social, economic, and political conditions in the region during the mid-19th century and the impact of both European and American expansion. The detailed observations of the author provide a valuable understanding of the region, and their impressions give insight into some of the challenges and opportunities present in the westward expansion of the United States. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
