Luhan Gave Frieda A New Mexico Ranch In 1924, And Frieda Moved There In 1931, Departing While Revagli Was Recalled To The Italian Army, Then Returning In The Spring Of 1933 Where They Built A New House Just Below The Lawrence Cabin. Luhan Wrote A Detailed Memoir Of Her Intensely Personal Intellectual Relationship With D H Lawrence. The Book Bears The Ownership Signature Of Writer William Goyen. Goyen Was Allowed To Build A House On Frieda Lawrence's Property In 1947, And Later Was Intimately Involved In The Events Of Her Final Day In 1956. Goyen Received Some Books From Frieda Directly, But He Also Collected Shelves Of Books About The Lawrences. Goyen Had An Excellent Memory, And His Copy Of Frieda Lawrence's Posthumous Memoirs Is Full Of His Pencil Corrections And Additions Regarding Events Which He Had Personally Observed. This Book Is Worn, Tips Just Beginning To Fray, Hinges Solid, Gilt Lettering On Spine Complete And Quite Readable Although Worn. There Is A 1/8" X 1/16" Hole Near Top Of Rear Spine Edge, And A Few Dents In The Top Edges Of Both Boards Due To Improper Shelving. Dust Jacket Supplied From Another Copu Of The First Ediiton, , Near Fine With Some Browning. Inscribed by Author(s).
