Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. Reprint. A very presentable, clean, hardly read copy of the 3rd impression which was published in May 1955 with the first two printing in Jan and Feb. the same year. The blue cloth boards are remarkably fresh looking as is the crisp title lettering on the spine. There is a very thin strip of sunning right at the very foot of the spine, but hardly noticeable except on closer inspection. There are no inscriptions and the pages are clean throughout the book, albeit the end papers and page block edge have light toning and there is some very mild foxing on a few pages sporadically throughout. Again though, you do have to look hard to notice this. The dust jacket is the fabulous design by Lucien Freud which make early editions of this book so sought after. The front cover looks bright and whole, although there is some edge wear and tearing along the hinges and very minor loss at the extremities. Also there is sun toning to the spine and, top edge and fore edge. Price clipped. In all this is a collectable condition copy of a very scarce early reprint.
