At the conclusion of the text, a page of "Notices" states: "In the present work, the substance of the former [Yaradee] is retained, the statistics varied by time being corrected; whilst the fuller history of the colonization enterprise, the advanced conditions of Liberia, and the present aspect of the whole subject, is presented by copious additions and revisions."
