Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is an examination of the life and times of William Hone, a British political activist, satirist, and publisher who lived during a period of great social and political change. The author draws on Hone's personal papers, including his own writings and correspondence, to provide a detailed account of his life and work. The book explores Hone's role in the political and religious controversies of his time, including his prosecution for blasphemy and his involvement in the campaign for parliamentary reform. It also examines his work as a publisher and his role in the development of the popular press.
