The author was a construction engineer and later an intelligence officer for the Fifth Air Force. This book is a memoir of his WWII experiences opening forward air strips in New Guinea, 1943-44. With 30 illustrations including maps and vintage photographs, mostly full page. Fold out map of Gulf of Papua (New Guinea) at front of book.
