Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book provides an in-depth glimpse into the history of the Order of Saint Dominic in Portugal. With extensive records from the 13th century to the 17th century, the book delves into the complexities of the Dominican Order and the influence of religious practices during this period. A central theme running through the book is the tension between the Claustral and Observant Dominicans and how the arrival of Frei João Furtado brings about an end to the Clausura Observant divide within the Dominican Order in Portugal. This text is a profound resource for scholars of religious history, particularly those interested in the Dominican Order and its role in shaping Portuguese society and culture. The book offers a wealth of insights into the history of religious orders, the evolution of Christian practices, and the interplay between religion and society in medieval and early modern Portugal. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
