Originally issued by the new defunct General Books LLC, this is an optical character recognition version of the London 1819 W Simpkin and R Marshall edition, the scanned images of which are freely available to read online at Google Books (Book ID dgk…wAAAAYAAJ). The prefixed Historical Account (relating to monasteries in England) is anonymous and of much later date than Luther; it takes up much of the first 30 pages; unlike the commentary it contains many lengthy footnotes which are interspersed in and (in this printing) not distinguished from the main text, requiring reference to the Google Books scan to understand what is going on. The commentary, which is derived from the 1577 edition, is a verse by verse affair and is not mainly about monks and matrimony! Sold "as is" - our price being low on account of its peculiarities.
