From the library of British film director Jack Clayton (1921-1995), although no indication of provenance appears in the book. The book would have served as research for his unrealised film adaptation of Jessamyn West's 'The Massacre at Fall Creek' (1975), a new wave western entitled Fall Creek (1976) in collaboration with producer David Merrick and with a script by Larry McMurtry.
