Ett fint och välbevarat exemplar. Ur texten: För snart tjugo är sedan publicerade Sture Bolin i denna tidskrift en mycket läs-värd och ofta läst artikel om De äldsta myntens princip. Ämnet för hans Studium var de tidigaste lydiska mynten i elektron, en legering av guld och silver, och de problem, som var förknippade med denna myntning. Han pekade särskilt pä det bland numismatiker väl kända faktum, att de lydiska elektronmynten med tiden fick en allt lägre halt av guld. Orsaken till denna kvalitetsförsämring säg Bolin i ett medvetet bedrägeri frän den lydiska statens sida: Archimedes princip var ju ännu icke känd, och det var praktiskt taget omöjligt för affärsmännen och andra, som använde mynten, att fastställa varje mynts kvalitet. Kontentan av uppsatsen är, att myntets födelse var förknippad med fiffel och ohederlighet, och att myntet aidrig hade blivit sä allmänt accepterat, om publiken hade varit med-veten om, att metallstyckena ingalunda höll det (metall-)värde, man tog för givet. Det finns ingen anledning att betvivla riktigheten i Bolins slutsatser, även om de bygger pä premisser, som synes vara diskutabla (varom mera nedan).
