Paginat…ion: viii, 171 pp. Dark green cloth binding, gilt lettering to front board and spine. Contains a typed letter that appears to be from the granddaughter of the author, thanking the recipient for allowing her to see his copy of her grandfather's book.Signs of wear, a little scuffing, some rubbing at edges and on hinges. A little marking but quite clean and vivid. Bumped corners. Some slackness to binding, a bit of strain to textblock, a loose plate between pages 48 and 49 but otherwise holding. Page edges deckled, upper edges opened, a bit browned and scuffed. Some marking to endpapers, bookplate on front pastedown. A little toning and occasional marking to page surfaces but generally clean, no underlining, marginalia, etc.See pictures for further information. viii, 171 pp.

The Shropshire Archaeological and Natural History Society (founded 1877) is one of England's oldest county archaeological societies. Its Transactions remain an important source for the archaeology, genealogy, topography and natural history of Shropshire and the Welsh Marches. The series contains a remarkable body of original research and primary source material by many leading contemporary antiquaries, including W. G. D. Fletcher, Askew Roberts, Rev. W. A. The fifth plate in Vol III of the second series and the first plate in Vol IV of the first are fully detached, but present. Pages bright and clean with one or two light spots and handling marks to first and last few leaves. Very slight soiling to first and last few leaves of volume XI.
