The cover, with illustration by the author, shows a young boy aboard a ship gazing out to sea. Cover is somewhat faded at top and spine edges, but inner pages are clean and unmarked, and binding is tight. The author writes with feeling about the culture and customs of the Slavs, as well as the history of their people and their land. Black-and-white illustrations by the author appear throughout. Book measures 5 X 7.5 inches and has 158 pages.
