Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Good. 1st Edition. Printed in Great Britain. [Date from the copyright page.] First Printing. Frontispiece, Acknowledgments, List of Illustrations, Introduction, Footnotes, A Bibliographical List of Crowley's Works Compiled by Edward Noel Fitzgerald, Index of Names; 229 [+1] pages, plus colophon. The vibrant red cloth is very good, with corners square and gilt lettering and lines on the spine as bright as if just issued. Top edge is colored red. The interior is creamy-bright and completely clean, despite pale freckling to the endpapers. The original fragile price-clipped pictorial dust jacket has taken all the wear: it is lightly sunned, a bit rubbed, and has chips to the spine affecting "Richards Press" at the base. [Please see my 7 images of the actual book.] "This bold, intimate, unprejudiced study of an extraordinary personality is written by a distinguished man of letters who knew him well--not as most of those who knew him, in the relation of a disciple to a master or of a seeker after sensation, but as one poet, one author, one neighbour, knows another." (From the flap.) As with every book from my father's collection, tipped-in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly with tracking; international sales sent via global priority, also with tracking.
