Okay it is a slightly chipped jacket but it has no serious losses. The book was printed on pulp paper so there is a brittle foxed quality to it but this is the best copy I've ever seen, especially with the superb artwork on the cover; this is greatly enhaced because it's got a fresh first print quality. And this book contains that rare combination of harmonious prose and pictures. Evocative and wonderful photographs by the great Edwin Smith, an unpretentious but subtle photographer. Clean and tight book in a clean and intact jacket, which is protected. The first printing - way back in the 80s - meant that the plates were fresh, sharp and original. Subsequent editions become worn, (unlike today's digital files, where the first impression is not necessarily different to the 20th!)
