Frances Trollope is specifically named in a satirical tone and there is a publisher's note mentioning other travelers of the period, whose work is generally critical of the United States. Mr. Fibbleton is listed as "ex- Barber to his Majesty"- to give him an aire of false supremacy, which often shows in the writings of other travellers of the period. Fun to read. Generally fair to poor condition, but scarce and worth adding to a collection of other travel narratives of the time to add a different perspective. The book is attributed Asa Greene or Matthew Franklin Whittier. Note: due to size and weight shipping outside the USA should cost about that of an average book.
