Two vintage reference photographs from the 1929 French silent film. Annotations in manuscript pencil on the versos. Based on the 1913 play written for the Grand-Guignol by Pierre Antier and Paul Cloquemin. A father and son agree to work as lighthouse keepers on the isolated coast of Brittany for a 30-day period. As the time pass…es, the father begins to realize that the son is beginning to go mad as the result of having been recently bit by a rabid dog. Jean Grémillon's second feature and last silent film. 6.5 x 4.5 inches. One Very Good plus, the other Very Good, with a vertical crease affecting the center.
