She thanks him for sending her 'the typescripts of the broadcasts, and for the kind words about Open the Door & my other writings'. She feels sure that 'a lot of the recent requests I have had from overseas for G[rowing].… P[oint]. can be traced to this broadcast, which I am very glad indeed to know about'. In 1961 Fisher published her influential guide to literature for children, 'Intent Upon Reading'. The following year she began to publish her journal 'Growing Point', described as 'Margery Fisher's regular review of books for the growing families of the English reading world and for readers, teachers, librarians and other guardians'. Over the next thirty years it appeared nine times a year, only ceasing publication a few months before her death. A portion of the children's books collected by Renier and his wife Anne is in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
