Glossary of hundreds of words, arranged by category: tactics, weapons, fire, terrain and roads, map reading, billeting, staff duties, services, field engineering, ranks and uniforms, mechanisation, medical services, times of day, and abbreviations. Between the sections are blank pages for the user to make notes or add words. Many terms are underlined in red ink, and many additions are written in blue ink on the blank pages, including a section on public safety. The author had taught military French at Sandhurst. He apologizes for any "imperfections" in the book, due to getting it out "quickly if it is to be of service to those shortly going abroad." This copy belonged to Capt. Hampden Turner, with his signature. The ink notes are in another hand. Can be sent outside the US for less than the default shipping rate.
