Deluxe double weight stock. Black and White. 7 1/2" x 9 3/4". Per the snipe on the verso, "Fannie (sic) Brice will represent the Crosley Radio Corp. at the Radio Industries…Banquet at New York City on Sept. 18, from 10-12, eastern day light saving time, from Hotel Astor, New York City." This Banquet was held on September 18, 1928 at the Hotel Astor. Fanny Brice (1891-1951) was an early Ziegfield Follies star who later became a radio star as "Baby Snooks". She was famously married to gambler Nicky Arnstein (1918-1927) and showman Billy Rose (1929-1938). Her life was the subject of the Broadway musical and film "Funny Girl" and the movie sequel "Funny Lady" starring Barbra Streisand as Fanny Brice. A bit rubbed from handling; still, Near Fine and now in a clear 4mil mylar protective envelope.

Includes 950 items and several photographs of various items. Approximately the last hundred items listed (all artworks) have prices written in pen or pencil next to them; presumably, the prices realized at auction. Aside from price markings and some light offsetting / rubbing from the ink used for the photographic illustrations, the interior is very clean. 146 pages. FURN/091115.

Octavo. 1949. *The autobiography of the man who was Mr Broadway, was married to Fanny Brice (See Film: Funny Lady). wrote "Me and My Shadow" (1927), "Without A Song" (1929), More Than You Know, 1929. "It Happened in Monterrey" (1930) and "It's Only a Paper Moon" (1933). Billy Rose's Aquacade, and Carmen Jones (1943). Died in 1966 aged 66. A Mensch, a diminutive one, but still a mensch. You like Broadway/Hollywood theatre and film AND Dali, you will love this. Salvador Dali. (ilustrador).

He is best remembered today for directing the first Marx Brothers film, "The Cocoanuts" (1929), and the 1932 horror film "Murders in the Rue Morgue." His 1937 film "Daughter of Shanghai" was selected for inclusion in the National Film Registry. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good plus or better.
