Arnold C6. A catalogue of publications of the Fanfrolico Press, which also contains a short publisher's manifesto. In mid-1928 the Press, the result of a creative partnership forged between Sydney publishers John Kirtley and Jack Lindsay (son of Norman Lindsay), was based in London with Jack Lindsay as proprietor working alongside P.R. Stephensen. By the time the Press closed in 1930, it had published forty-six books with a distinctive design aesthetic, including numerous titles illustrated by Norman Lindsay. First trade edition, being one of 850 copies thus bound of a total edition of 900. *A detailed history and full bibliography of the Fanfrolico Press, tracing the venture from its origins in Sydney in the early 1920s, to its heyday in London in the mid-1920s and eventual dissolution in 1930. The illustrations include reduced facsimiles of the title pages of the forty-six books published by the Press, which was notable for the literary input of its proprietor, Jack Lindsay (working initially with John Kirtley, later with P. R. Stephensen, and finally alone). Several of the books published by the Fanfrolico Press contained illustrations by Jack's father, Norman Lindsay. Other illustrators included Edward Bawden, Hal Collins, and Lionel Ellis. Jack Lindsay, initially with Kirtley, was responsible for the typographical design that brought a distinctive style to the books of the Press.

He wrote five tragedies, of which one, Count Arezzi (1822), sold brilliantly while it was mistaken for Byron's work. Partridge remarks in his prefatory note: "That so fine a writer as Robert Landor should have fallen into an almost complete neglect is inexplica…ble on literary groundsÉOf men who, since 1700 (and I might add since 1600), have published their work only to attract little immediate notice and to become very rapidly forgotten, I know of none that can approach in merit, whether it be in prose or verse, this younger brother of Walter Savage Landor."
