We went there and got to see a fantastic exhibition where many new research findings were also presented. The idea was born that this material should be made available to a wider circle. A collaborative project was started between the Art Industry Museum in Helsinki and AB Stockholms Auktionsverk - a collaboration that resulted in the exhibition Silver Treasures from Livland, Estonia and Courland". - - - "Under hösten 1990 fick vi på Auktionsverket höra att en utställning av livländskt och kurländskt silver pågick i slottet Rundale (Ruhenthal) utanför Bauska i södra Lettland. Vi åkte dit och fick se en fantastisk utställning där också många nya forskningsrön presenterades. Då föddes tanken att detta material borde göras tillgängligt för en vidare krets.
