Signature and inscription are at bottom on front of the photograph. Original black-and-white portrait photograph of Ruth Etting. Etting is shown in a slight 3/4 turn looking off to the right with a slight smile. She wears a black outfit and what may be a lace scarf. Photo is a bust portrait. No date, circa 1938. 10" x 13." Photo is very clean and intact overall except for bumped corners, slight bending and wrinkling along edges, a small closed tear on right edge, chipped upper-left corner, and a several small marks on back. A Very Good copy. This is a black-and-white portrait photo of American singer and actress Ruth Etting (1896-1978) that is signed by her contemporary, Paulette Goddard (1910-1990), an American actress. They both performed during the Golden Age of Hollywood and were colleagues in the musical comedy film, Roman Scandals (1933), which was produced by Samuel Goldwyn. In this movie, Etting had a starring role as "Olga." Goldwyn's films frequently featured the chorus group of women performers known as the Goldwyn Girls. Goddard appeared in Roman Scandals as an uncredited Goldwyn Girl. The lower-right corner of the photo has a photographer's imprint that reads, "G. Maillard Kesslere, N. Y., '38." Back has an ink stamp that reads, "Copyrighted Portrait; Kindly Credit to George Maillard Kesslere, B. [--?].".

Paper Back. Condición: Very Good. Approx. 7-1/2' X 5-1/2' plain paper with large elegant inscription and signature. Matted and framed with a 10' X 12' publicity photo by Alfred Cheney Johnston, the one with Etting in profile, showing a lot of leg, and having been called the most stunning photo of her. The photo is probably a later knock-off since the photographer's name is given as Johnson, without a 't'. Still a rather attractive photo with a mildly scarce jazz-age autograh.
