Añadir al carritoPaperback set. Condición: Very Good-. First Edition. 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 694 pages; 1961 - 1967 Little Sisters of the Assumption, [Paris]. This 5 volume set is an approximation of sorts of the teachings of Etienne Pernet. The books appear to have been printed solely for use among the congregation of Sisters and Novices and lay volunteers of the Sisters of the Assumption. There are no records of the books being held in any library searched by Worldcat. Prepared and printed between 1960 and 1967, they extract along thematic lines the most inspired and important spoken words recorded from Pernet's many conferences with the congregation in Paris, as recorded by note takers of the time. Diligently referenced with respect to date, they are organized in 5 themed groups as separate books. Uniformly bound in cream card stock covers with titles in black and red. They are "ex-library" from the Lynn, Massachusetts home of the Little Sisters. Light ownership indications with 2 volumes having a card pocket, another a small label at spine and a few ink stamps ownership marks. As such these 5 books appear to be the most complete printed collection of Pernet's thought and teachings. Prefatory material in the 1st volume references the large collection of manuscript records of these conferences and a hope to bring all to print, but this effort appears to be the most complete so far undertaken. Likewise it appears these volumes were never made available outside of the Congregation of the Little Sisters. Devoted to providing nursing and health care to the poor and indigent working class born of the Industrial Revolution, the Sisters of the Assumption were established as a congregation under the leadership of Father Pernet and Sister Mother Mary of Jesus [Antoniette Fage]. Rare. VG- . Oversize book may require additional charges for expedited or international shipping.
