Les auteurs proposent 23 coupes du Salève, orientées NW-SE, du Petit Salève à la Montagne de La Caille, avec repérage des étages géologiques et des plans de faille. Cet ouvrage fait encore référence aujourd'hui. En effet aucune de cette envergure sur le sujet n'a été publiée depuis. Exemplaire bien complet de la précieuse carte au 1:25000, qui reste le seul document disponible depuis plus d'un siècle. La publication dans les "Archives des Sciences" d'une nouvelle carte intégrant tous les résultats des travaux entrepris ceux de Joukowski a été annoncée par B. Manstrangelo (Arch.Sci. This work is still a reference today. Indeed, no other work of this importance on this subject has been published since. A complete copy with the famous 1:25000 map, which remains the only document available for more than a century. The publication in the "Archives des Sciences" of a new map was announced by B.
