With respect to Lanyon's visit, 'and to the earlier call I hope you will make on my wife (who is generally not in from her drive till 5.0)', he makes him a street plan (on lower part of second page). He is also enclosing '5 cards for the Goldsmith's Ball', in the hope that he will be able to 'take friends with you in sufficient number to prevent your being alone in an unknown City Hall.' Postscript: 'My conscience compels me to return the stolen watch key'.
