Il fut également, de 1900 à 1929, le directeur de la 'Station oenologique de Champagne', laboratoire de viticulture situé au lieu-dit Fort Chabrol, à Épernay. Cette station servait à la fois d'école pratique de viticulture, pour former les vignerons à la technique de greffage, et de laboratoire d'étude des porte-greffes importés d'Amérique, et destinés à lutter contre le mildiou.Examplaire dédicacé à l'abbé Joseph Dubaquié, prêtre catholique, qui fut directeur de la station agronomique et oenologique de la Faculté des Sciences de Bordeaux, de 1923 à 1948. Cette station avait été fondée en 1881 par un élève de Pasteur, M. Ulysse Gayon, en particulier pour étudier la fermentation des vins. Une rue de Bordeaux a été renommée en la mémoire de J. Dubaquié ("rue Chanoine Joseph Dubaquié").Dans sa réponse à Emile Manceau, l'abbé Dubaquié écrit : "Monsieur et Cher Collègue, Tous mes remerciements et mes félicitations pour votre excellent volume sur la vignification champenoise, et l'aimable dédicace dont vous l'avez accompagné. The covers are quite nicked to the edges, and have some repaired closed tears to the spine. The covers have been reinforced to the text block. Pages are uncut. Inside, the book is in good, clean condition, but with moderate darkening to the pages. Émile Manceau edited "Le Vigneron Champenois", the journal of the Champagne producers (later "Le Vigneron de Champagne"). From 1900 to 1929 he was also director of the Champagne Oenological Station, a viticultural laboratory at Fort Chabrol, Épernay. The station served both as a practical school of viticulture, training winegrowers in grafting techniques, and as a laboratory for studying rootstocks imported from America to combat mildew.
