Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fair. With a portrait and decorations by Duncan Grant (son of Major Bartle Grant) Ilustrador. 1st Edition. Limited Edition of 850 copies, of which this is number 689. There are 95 pages in the book. The 95th page, the last Index page, is unnumbered. Beginning with the book, it is in very nice condition. You can see the blue covers in the photos. They are very clean. The gilt lettering on the spine is bright. There's a little bit of crinkling and color fade at the spine ends, no tears or loss. The spine is sun toned. The cover edges are in excellent shape, no rubbing. The same can be said for the cover corners. All three page edges are deckled or rough-cut. The spine is straight and the binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in very good condition. The pages are exceptionally clean. I turned them all over without finding any soiling. None of the pages are uncut. Around 20 or so have a crease coming down a little ways from their top corner, the kind of crease created by something pressing down. There are no turned-down corners, no placeholder creases. There are no tears. There are no markings of any kind. No attachments. There isn't any writing in the book other than a lightly penciled 'rare jacket' on the first of two blank front end papers. Which brings us to the, yes, rare jacket. As you can see, the front and rear are in pretty nice shape, a loss at the top edge of the spine takes with it a little bit of the top edge of the front and rear. The jacket is quite clean. There is toning off the top edges of the front and rear. The spine is also toned. There is a penciled '689' at the front top right corner (which, as mentioned, is the book's given number in the limited edition). The condition rating on the jacket is due to the losses at the spine endings and at the center of the spine (second photo). There is no print on the flaps. They are in good shape, no tears or losses, and clean. The jacket is thus not priced, nor is it clipped. I have always had it in a fitted protective cover. I removed it to better examine the jacket. Despite the losses, the jacket is in very solid shape. I'm going to place a new fitted protective cover on it before scanning the photos. Once listed, this will be by far the least expensive of any of the few copies with a dust jacket. 'Duncan James Corrowr Grant was a Scottish painter and designer of textiles, pottery, theatre sets, and costumes. He was a member of the Bloomsbury Group. His father was Bartle Grant, a 'poverty-stricken' major in the army, and much of his early childhood was spent in India and Burma.'.
