Thick 8vo., xxii + 607pp. + lxxxv, illus frontis, 10 plates (5 colored), tables. Volume 1 was the only volume published. Blue pebbled cloth with gilt titles, crest and embossed cover design of anchor, black endpapers. Wear at the corners, splitting to the paper over interior hinges - hinges intact and strong, else very good, text and plates clean, bright, no foxing. Scarce.

With frontisp., 8 full-page plates, 5 of which are col. and a folding map. Pages uncut. An associated letter dated September 27/1893 written on the publisher's letterhead with instructions from the author to insert a correction page for all unsold copies, tipped in on pp. xix. A very nice copy.
