Purple cloth; slight scuffing at spine ends and at tips of board corners; spine's gilt stamping remains bright. Edges and endpapers toned. Author's two-line ink inscription upon the half-title page: "With best wishes, | Edwin P. Hicks." Interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. A very good copy in a good dust jacket. With endpaper maps, Dedication, Acknowledgements, Foreword by Homer Croy, section of b/w plates un pages xiii, xxiv, Sources, and Index.
