First English printing, with rare dust jacket, of a now notorious scientific analysis of heredity. Black buckram covers have some shelf wear to top and bottom edges, spine lettering… slightly faded, still quite readable. Internally, page edges uniformly toned, otherwise nice and clean throughout. Dust jacket has some edge and corner wear with some loss, spine is toned, jacket is strong and essentially complete. Jacket now in removable clear archival mylar. The book was reasonably well received when originally published in German and was translated to English and published in 1931. A review of the German edition quoted on the dust jacket cover states "It cannot fail to make a deep impression on all who read it.it is very much hoped that the book will be translated". The book served as academic foundation for many of the racial beliefs and policies of Hitler's Third Reich. See attached photos. All of our books are individually inspected and described.
