Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Fine. First Edition. Inscribed by the editor to American choral conductor, organist, and music educator G. Wallace "Woody" Woodworth on the front flyleaf. Lavish presentation of selections from the family letters and journals of Edith Forbes Perkins (1843-1925), a member of the Brahmin family long prominent in Boston. Edith married a cousin, Charles Elliott Perkins, who rose to become president of the Burlington Railroad in 1881. Acquaintances of the writer Willa Cather, Edith and her husband are thought to be the models for the railroad magnate Mr. Ogden and his wife in the novel A Lost Lady (1923). Octavo, four volumes: various paginations with frontispiece portraits (one color) and numerous gravure illustrations. Original purple cloth binding, with decorative gilt stamping. A fine set in the original glassine wrappers. Housed in the publisher's cloth box with clasp, which is unevenly faded and a bit edgeworn.…
