The corners, edges and seams are much worn. The front decoration is persistent in its elegance. Former library copy (Natal Mounted Police). The contents are much marked and affected by damp, thoughtless storage, about the edges of the pages. There is foxing throughout. However, the contents are tight against the spine, assured, resolute, stoic, clear, entertaining and may be read with utter confidence and enjoyment. fk. Binding is tight and leather is fresh and supple with wear to the edges; pages dusty with light soiling to the edges; interior clean with light age toning to the pages. Thomas-Simon Gueullette (1683 - 1766) was a French lawyer, playwright, scholar and man of letters, who also wrote fairy tales and works on the theatre itself.

Published in 1894 three years before the illustrated edition and shortly after Lady Burton edition, the 1st Nichols Edition, restored elements of the story Lady Burton had omitted. This is a heavy set and may require additional postage if being shipped outside of Europe. Large 8vo.
