Title page has been detached, and reattached with cellophane tape, due to cracking of beginning and ending leaves of book from original binding. The actual textblock is tight, but there are small closed cracks at top spine side of some pages. Again, this appears to be caused by the original binding of this book. Paper is age toned. Although not printed on this edition of the work, this volume is later printed as volume 1 of the memoirs. Only minor, if not trivial additional signs of age/wear/previous use to book and dust jacket.
