The St. Petersburg residence was the Summer home of the Imperial family, including Catherine the Great, Alexander I and Nicolas II. Much was destroyed during the Second World War but has since been rebuilt. The book is filled with Marc Walter's photographs which capture the restored architecture, interiors and parkland, including the celebrated Amber Room, the Great Hall and the Agate Rooms.
