Intended for use by the family, featuring an unused "Family Register" page to the front of the work. In red full-morocco binding. With full-morocco wraps. Externally, reasonably smart with moderate bumping and rubbing, resulting in some loss of leather to edges, spine tips and joints, and a few marks. Wrap suffers greatly from shelf wear with thorough loss of leather, culminating in small tears to edges, the most significant chips being to the head of spine and rear of wrap. A few additional marks to boards and a minor hole to the front cover. Internally, firmly bound. Spotting and discolouration throughout with darker marking to endpapers. Good. book.

Reich goldgeprägter Original-Leder mit umlaufendem Messingbeschlag sowie 2 Messing-Schließen und umlaufendem Goldschnitt, Kleinfolio ( 34 x 26 cm ). Leider ist der Einband von schlechter Erhaltung. Der schmale Einbandrücken stark angeplatzt, mittig gebrochen und stark gelockert, die Buchdeckel dadurch sehr stark gelockert und fast lose. Einband berieben und gering fleckig. Innen im family register" mit einigen Eintragungen der Familie Day zwischen 1864 1915. Seiten teils gering fleckig, die Kupferstiche und Tafeln jeweils vor allem zum Außenrand hin fleckig, stockfleckig und zu Beginn auch einige Stiche am weißen Außenrand hin wasserrandig, wenige Seiten mit kleinen Randläsionen. The narrow spine is badly chipped, broken in the middle and very loose, the boards are therefore very loose and almost loose. Binding rubbed and slightly stained. Inside, in the "family register," with some entries from the Day family between 1864 and 1915. Some pages are slightly stained, the copperplate engravings and plates are stained, especially toward the outer margins, and foxed. Some engravings also have waterstains along the white outer margins at the beginning. A few pages have minor marginal damage. The bible is in Very Good, tight condition with brass trim to the corners and two brass clasps that hold the book closed. The gilt design is intact but the boards are rubbed and worn and at some point the front cover has detached and been repaired. The outcome is there is a clear split evident at the front of the spine but the boards are now firmly reattached. The spine is straight and there is scuffing to the spine ends. The pages are clean but lightly toned and gilt edged.
