BOOK CONDITION: fair. The text block is in fairly good condition, with a few tiny tears, some refolded dogears, and a small number of marginal marks. Pages are age-toned. This was a school library book and consequently has the usual library markings and items (date due form, pocket, etc.). It has tape repairs in various places but is consequently intact except for a crack beginning to appear near the back cover. The irrigation movement of 1899 was comparatively remote from the great heart of the Nation, domiciled in distant deserts, a long way from the nearest house (and almost nobody lived there, too), while the irrigation movement of 1905 is planted in the heart of populous towns and intimately related to the commerce of the world. Six years ago, national irrigation was a dream; today, the dream has come true.
