Añadir al carritoBoards. Octavo, original pictorial blue cloth boards (a black-stamped pattern with gilt-stamped flowers), colour frontis plate, colour plates, decorated title page, illustrated endpapers. pp 240 plus 16 pp publisher's catalogue. N.d. (c. 1916). The spine is rippled and marked. Fraying at the top and bottom of the spine, and the…top corners. Rear hinge cracked. Fair condition only. This particular edition of "Little Women", published by Henry Frowde with Hodder and Stoughton, appears to be scarce. It was published in the "Herbert Strang's Library" series, as stated in the front illustrated endpapers, with a quote from Shakespeare on the rear illustrated papers. The colour plates are by the English artist James Durden (1878 - 1964) The book famously chronicles the joys and sorrows of the four March sisters as they grow into young women in nineteenth-century New England. "Jo" becomes a writer. Despite the faults of this copy, it is still a fairly attractive copy of an uncommon edition. Illus. James Durden (ilustrador).
