Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Near Fine. 1st Edition. One of the best and most nostalgic works on cooking. Just after WW2 - and with food rationing still in force - the Daily Mirror used its power to promote basic nutritional values and cooking in the average home. The result was this delightful vintage cookbook, with artwork for the excellent comic strips by the brilliant Jack Dunkley. Spiral bound so it lays flat, you will find vintage ads and basic well laid out sections. Life was tough but food could still be made more appealing. This is a good clean copy for its age, and is rarely found in such a good condition, without any former owner signs or any sauce scatterings. BRILLIANT and nostalgic, it is a wonderfully collectable recipe book with superb drawings. Language: eng Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng.…

Patsy learns to cook in the company of Peter, her husband, Joan Featherpenny, Mum, Dad and Mrs Always. "When Patsy got married to Peter in 1946 she hardly knew how to cook an egg. So with help from her mum and two neighbours she set out to teach herself how to cook. There are many thousands of Patsies in the world who don't know how to cook but this book shares the secret she's discovered, cooking isn't really that hard once you've got the hang of it. You'll also read about Patsy's other great adventure, her first baby and how that affects her and Peter. This is a unique book, it's a cookbook set out like a comic book" (Country House Library) A nostalgic look at post-war Britain in comic-book style. A nice copy.…
