An account of the sexual mores of the region we would refer to as the Middle East today, including the cruel manner in which many women and girls were being controlled physically and sexually at the time, which involved circumcision, infibulation, and even accounts of contraptions one might refer to as chastity belts; as well as the documentation of the many sexual taboos taking place in the region at the time, an instance of a woman getting another woman pregnant, the use of stimulants, and descriptions of eunuchs encountered in Russia and Egypt.
